Spent hens and poultry feathers are considered as a waste by-product because their existing uses are economically marginal and they contribute to environmental pollution due to the disposal problems. Over the last 9 years, Dr. Ullah’s lab has developed novel materials using poultry byproducts such as biosorbents for water treatment, biochemicals and high performance hybrid bio/nanocomposites for packaging and other industrial applications.
