Alberta Chicken Producers and Poultry Innovation Partnership co-hosted a webinar exploring the new flexible OFFSP barn cleaning requirements and how cleaning and disinfecting methods can affect the bacterial and viral load of your barns. There were two presentations: Providing Greater Flexibility for Barn Cleaning: New Requirements in the CFC On-Farm Food Safety Program. Kavita Walia (CFC) discussed new barn cleaning options and the flexibility they can provide for washing, disinfecting and downtime on your farm. Are your cleaners cleaning and disinfectants disinfecting? Dave van Walleghem (Vetoquinol) discussed the most challenging barn cleaning processes, how cleaners and disinfectants work, and the risks and benefits of using downtime in the sanitation process.
