Decades ago, most students in animal science and health programs were from agriculture backgrounds – ‘farm kids.’ Today, many students have urban backgrounds so they lack first hand experience with the complexity of poultry farming. Without experience, they face the age old challenge of not having the experience to qualify for positions but also not having the opportunity to gain experience.
