Brenda Reimer

Tech Transfer Coordinator

University of Alberta

Brenda Reimer, BA, BSc, MSc, is the PIP Tech Transfer Coordinator. Brenda is our behind-the-scenes tech wizard who makes the PIP magic happen. Brenda created and continues to grow the PIP website and hosts all our virtual webinars, meetings, classes, events and more. If it’s PIP and techy, Brenda is there.

Brenda has an eclectic background, starting with a degree in English, Music and Religious Studies. She found her way to agriculture after working with her dad on the family farm and both of her U of A agriculture degrees are in Poultry Science. In creating the virtual presence and brand for PIP, Brenda’s natural abilities for technology and innovation have been ignited and she has become the driving force behind every TT initiative for PIP. “I have been involved in the family farm my whole life. We did have laying hens growing up, my mom would deliver eggs to customers in Edmonton every Thursday. We also kept turkeys, geese (and broilers over the summer, butchering them all ourselves in the fall. I hated working with the chickens when I was a kid, so the fact that they became my career is highly ironic. I took Frank Robinson’s poultry course at the U of A during my last year of undergrad and, with his recommendation, landed a summer job with Alberta Agriculture doing poultry research, and the rest is history!”
