Thania is Brenda’s right hand in the PIP team, facilitating tech transfer projects, working in the back end of our website, researching papers, co-hosting webinars and virtual events, creating content for this newsletter and much more.

Thania was born in Brazil, where she obtained a DVM and moved to Canada in 2009 where she received M.Sc in Animal Science from the U of A. Her project evaluated the effect of broiler breeder nutrition on reproductive and offspring performance. With more than ten years of research experience with multiple poultry species, Thania also worked as a research assistant with Dr. Martin Zuidhof in 2013 and 2018 before joining PIP in 2021. “I love working with poultry because there are always innovations and challenges, ways to improve. Part of my job is to help producers to solve their problems in order to Advance the Canadian Poultry Enterprise, but that connection with the producers to know how we can engage with them and help them is not easy to achieve.”
